Schulz joins Atkins as senior group manager for buildings sector
 

Alexandria, VA – Bradley Schulz, AIA, has joined Atkins as a senior group manager for the firm’s mid-Atlantic buildings practice in North America. In this role, he will focus on establishing and growing an architecture and design practice for federal, commercial, and municipal clients based in and around the Metro DC area, while leveraging Atkins’ federal, hospitality, and international design experience and reputation into the US.

With 23 years of architecture experience and 16 years of federal experience, Schulz has been involved with a wide range of projects in the US and internationally. His experience has focused on federal, Department of Defense, design-build, aviation, security, and planning projects. As a project manager, his notable experience includes multiple large, international design IDIQ contracts as well as hangars, headquarters, and educational projects ranging up to $200 million in construction value.

Schulz brings with him an extensive background in design-build as well as relationships with many of the nation’s largest builders. He has provided design and planning services for the Department of Defense around the globe including locations such as Korea, Japan, Guam, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Greenland, Iceland, North Africa, much of Europe, and the Middle East including Afghanistan.

Schulz has received numerous design awards, including multiple Awards of Excellence from the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command for projects at McGuire and MacDill Air Force Bases, as well as various honors from the American Planning Association, American Society of Landscape Architects, and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. He has also authored multiple articles and white papers published in Army Engineer Magazine and The Military Engineer, and he is a regular speaker on the use of building information modeling.

  • Multi-year architecture-engineering construction management services for the National Park Service in the USA, including projects such as rehabilitation of the Furnace Creek Visitor Center and Administrative Complex at California’s Death Valley to meet the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification standards.
