Intersolar Award for Solar Projects in North America
Atkins’ client ESA Renewables won this award for its innovative solar voltaic array installation at Martins Creek Elementary School (Murphy, NC). Atkins performed critical electrical-system reviews of the solar voltaic array and its interconnection to the electrical grid. (2012)

Arizona Water Association Project of the Year, Wastewater Systems
The Atkins-designed Wastewater System Expansion Program of Lake Havasu City, Arizona won Project of the Year from the Arizona Water Association (AZ Water) in the category of Wastewater Systems. Atkins handled engineering and construction management for this new city-wide sewer system, which has enabled the City to close more than 20,000 septic tanks. The project was completed two years ahead of schedule and more than $100 million under budget.
