Galloway joins Atkins as Director of Texas Water Practice - June 8, 2012
Austin, TX — Atkins, the industry-leading engineering and design consultancy, is pleased to announce the hiring of Richard W. Galloway, who has joined the company as a senior vice president in its water and environment (W&E) group. He is based in Atkins’ Austin office.
Galloway has 35 years of professional experience as a consultant and contractor to state and local governments, agencies, and private-sector clients. He also has significant experience pursuing large federal projects, including Department of Defense (DoD) and a broad spectrum of other federal clients.
According to Atkins W&E President Gary Erickson, Galloway is well known in the industry. “I have known Rick for more than 30 years,” Erickson said, “and I have followed his career with other premier engineering firms. He was instrumental in their success, and we look for him to elevate Atkins—not only in the Texas water market but on a national level as well.”
During his career, Galloway has managed the development of a broad range of environmental, water, facilities, infrastructure, and defense projects. In his new role as director of water-related business in Texas, he will be instrumental in developing strategies for Atkins’ W&E Group in the Lone Star State and across the country.
Galloway is a certified sustainability initiatives professional (CSIP) who holds a B.S. in agronomy from Mississippi State University and also attended the Air Force Institute of Technology’s graduate program in engineering/environmental management. His professional affiliations include memberships in the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and American Engineering Association (AEA). He is a past national board member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and previously served as chair of SAME’s Design and Construction Committee.
