Alabama Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery

USA-AL | SECTOR:

During the devastating April 2011 tornado outbreak in the southern and eastern United States, areas throughout Alabama suffered catastrophic wind damage and flooding. The event was one of the most deadly and destructive tornado events in U.S. history, with winds topping 200 miles per hour and estimated losses between $1 billion and $2 billion.

Our team of public assistance and debris experts mobilized within 48 hours and began working with Alabama Emergency Management Agency and FEMA representatives immediately to organize and deploy support for local applicants with debris and FEMA Public Assistance grant questions. Atkins’ team was instrumental in helping to obligate more than $178 million in FEMA Public Assistance funds to the State of Alabama and its applicants.
