San Marcos Armed Forces Reserve Center

Atkins provided full architectural services for the $25 million design-build of a new Armed Forces Reserve Center in San Marcos, Texas. Located on a 15-acre site, the complex includes a 62,648-square-foot training building that houses both Army Reserve and Texas National Guard functions, a 29,700-square-foot heated storage building, a 25,717-square-foot organizational maintenance shop, and a 722-square-foot unheated storage building. The site also includes parking spaces for 172 privately owned vehicles and 13,700 square yards for military equipment parking.

Site improvements included domestic water, wastewater, fire water, and natural gas services; grading and landscaping; erosion controls; paving, walks, and curbs; stormwater detention; communications, electric, fire protection, HVAC, CATV, and security mass notification systems, and security fencing.
